Cry-Baby motion intro
When I was tasked with creating a title sequence for one of my favorite movies, I chose Cry-Baby from 1990. In designing the title sequence, I aimed to match my illustration style to reflect the movie's aesthetic. I used patterned backgrounds and a predominantly pastel color palette to capture the essence of the 1950s. One of the challenges I faced was achieving seamless transitions between the elements I created. Overall, I am very pleased with how the title sequence turned out, and I believe it does justice to the film.
Ideation
When I started the design process for this motion piece, I focused on the stylistic direction I wanted to pursue. I was certain I wanted to capture a 1950s aesthetic, but I wasn't sure which specific style would be the most effective. After gathering ideas, I decided to embrace a full pastel color scheme and opted for a static background without motion. Once I settled on these decisions, I began designing the complete frames for each scene and created all of the elements as components.
